No idea.

Practically all of the charges I'm reclaiming (and watch the threads for how many there will be!) go back to early 2001, when things went really bad for us seemingly overnight. Eventually, we consolidated and paid off most of our loans, cards etc... Hubby finally convinced me last year (grrr) to get rid of all the paperwork that was cluttering the loft. Little did we know... *sigh*

Anyway, I'd guesstimate couple of hundred pounds on this one.

Default How's it going then?

How did you get on with Argos?

I've just compiled my charges from them and am ready to begin my action against them.

Just wondered how they reacted to your letter?

They haven't... Got letter yesterday, saying they've looked at my account and the only charges there were the interest from deferred terms after 6 mths, and that they are correct charges.

Of course, that is not at all what I was talking about, and they're due for a letter before action to go on monday, reminding them time's running out for compliance with Data Protection Act request. Still, comparatively speaking, better than Ikea, who haven't even bothered answering at all!

But if you don't have the charges, what are you going to sue for?

Sorry, got my sentences muddled up. What I meant was I was going to remind them of Data Protection Act timing. (Halifax are the LBA, I'm really no thinking straight tonight!)

Default Re: Argos Store Card

Well, yet again (is it me? I had to phone Ikea and NatWest to chase them up as well), I phoned Argos to remind them tick-tock, tick-tock (tomorrow, as it goes).

First of all, the woman wouldn't talk to me as card is in DH's name, even though said husband was right there and told her to speak to me. Am I impressed? Guess...

So we had this weird conversation where I said to DH: "Tell her that Data Protection Act request is running out, and I'm going to complain to Information Commissioner, etc..." and he repeated that...
Then I said... he repeated it... then she said... he repeated it to me... all the time, she could clearly hear me in the background! Surreal... Anyway....
She then said she would order the statements today and they would take 7-10 days... She must have heard me howl in the background that they'd had 39 days and I wasn't going to take this lying down, because she then promptly said that actually, they'd get posted tonight. I should bloody think so too.

Default Re: Argos Store Card

Well, to be honest, I had completely forgotten about them, with all that's going on elsewhere... Lucky Argos...

Anyway, post landed with a thud this morning, 21 statements in 21 envelopes.

At first glance, very disappointing, I'd guesstimated £200, it looks as if it's only £20! (With that kind of dubious maths, maybe I should go work for a bank!)

Ah well, still better in my pocket than theirs.
